PHOSPHORESCENT LIGHTS | SONIA ZAREI

Submitted by: Sonia Adriana Zarei

*Note: Some lyrics had to be taken out due to swearing

Lyrics:
We are a recycled youth
Paper thin, this is fragile
We are a reflection of sand and glass
We are the pollen in the breeze
Squeaky shoes and phosphorescent hearts
Young and malleable, we shape shift like the ocean tides
Ebbing and syncopating into the souls we've come to know in our lives
Fast sleepers and daylight dreamers
Nothing is set in stone, fear the unknown and embrace the long gone lovers who have for all you've known tasted black liquorish
Emotions are a blank canvas and have room for error
As the painter goes over sketched out lines, each time getting thicker
[kill the killer and ___ the police]
Angsty teenagers stealing away the night
Lonesome days and even lonelier nights
Shadows follow you mindlessly but not always in sight
Fill my lungs with tar and carbon dioxide
Breathe the filthy air I breathe
My mind is a cd stuck on pause
[no time for __ repeats]
As we lay there our bodies moving like a still motion picture
Black and white but colour me grey
Don't worry about tomorrow
Todays another day
So keep me where the light is
